Lost in Translation…

The train ride from Kagoshima to Beppu took about half a day, but who’s counting when you’re busy transferring trains like it’s an Olympic sport? We had to first head north to Hakata Station in Fukuoka, hop on a Shinkansen, then switch to a limited express train bound for Beppu. Somewhere along the way, we blinked at the train station sign and saw it clearly: “USA.”

Wait, what?

We blinked.

We double-checked the sign.

We laughed.

Because nothing says international journey quite like crossing Japan and still ending up in USA.
